In this article, I am going to talk about Blooket, my new discovery this season that is being a complete success among my students. As you know, when we create games and interactive activities. It is necessary to vary them if we want to get motivation and participation.
If we always use the same tool or the same games, we fall into a routine, it becomes a monotonous activity and it no longer fulfills the objective with which we created it. For this reason, I like to research new tools, try them out, and if I like them, start using them in my classes.
What is Blooket?
Blooket is a digital tool that allows you to create quizzes to review, consolidate, or introduce certain content to your students. Blooket operation is similar to other tools such as Kahoot, Quizlet, or Quizzes but what I like the most about this one, unlike the others, is that it combines the questions that we have created with very fun games that children love.
For example one of the game models is “Tower defense” in which the players have to defend their city or town from attacks by invaders. Our students must correctly answer the questions that we have created to get the animals that defend their town. Another model that is having quite a bit of success among my students is “Coffee”.
In it, they have to serve and give food to their customers, and to get that food, they must answer our questions correctly. From my point of view, this combination of a digital game with an academic game is what makes the difference between Blooket and other tools of this type.
How To Play Blooket?
We just have to put Blooket in the search engine, access its page, and register. Once registered, we log in and now we can choose between creating our own set of questions or using the questions that other teachers have created. I personally like to create my quizzes so I would have to click on “create”.
Once this is done, we give the activity a title, add an image and a description, and start creating our questions. If you have used Quizlet and already have completed quizzes, you can import them directly.
If you want to use the questionnaires made by other friends. You will have to click on “discover” and put the topic you want to work on in the search engine. As it is a relatively new application, you have to keep in mind that there are not as many question sets created as there may be in Kahoot or Quizlet.

I have already created my questions on Blooket, now what?
Once we have created our set of questions or used the questions created by other teachers. We would click on the “host” option and choose the type of game. When we have done this, we can choose whether we want to send the game to our students as homework or play it live in class.
If we send it as homework, we must complete some data such as the time we want it to last, when the activity expires, etc. Once these data are filled in, a link will be generated that we will share with our students.
If we choose the option to play live, we will also have to fill in the options that the game offers us. Such as the duration time, and whether or not we allow players to join later. The number of questions that we want to be asked in the game. Once this data is filled in, a numerical code will be generated with which our students will enter the game from their devices.
And after playing Blooket
After having played, we can see how they have done, how many questions they have got right & how many they have failed both at the group and individual levels. To do this, we would click on “dashboard” and “history”. Next, we select the game on which we want to analyze the results obtained and that’s it.
